Hey everyone! I'm SO excited to begin a new documentation project that I have wanted to start for a while, which is The Werkin Vlog. First off all, I want to back up and give you some context.
I have been creating videos since I was 10 years old. From TV shows to short films and documentaries, I have always found a sense of passion of comfort behind the camera. In 2015, I co-founded a wedding videography business with my now fiance, Kasey, and my Dad, Mark, called Point200. I also had the luxury of being able to do videography/photography as part of my day job.
In December of 2017, I made the decision to create my own contract videography business that would serve as a full time job for me. My last day with my full time day job was Feburary 2nd, 2018. That means I actually get to focus on what I want to do FULL TIME! Though it is terrifying and makes me nervous, the inclusion of feelings of happiness, joy and excitement have led me to the conclusion that what I am doing is 100% right in my life right now.
Okay, back to The Werkin Vlog...You may think, "Why is he spelling "work" incorrectly?" Well, it kind of happened by accident. As Instagram stories started to become more and more popular, I slowly started to begin document my day, both personally and for business. One day, I took a photo of myself on a video shoot and I added the title "Werkin" to the photo on Instagram stories and thus started a revolution. I thought to myself " this is a great way for me to showcase my work to my followers. Why not keep this going?!"
As I begin my journey into being a full time business owner, I start with one idea in mind: document everything. I plan on posting videos that I complete on The Werking Vlog, as well as some behind the scenes photos, videos, and notes. I'll post videos here and there that I am working on professionally, as well as some fun personal projects that I am documenting.
I thank all of you who have helped me get to this path in my life and I'm thankful in advance for those that help guide me along the path as I go. Enjoy The Werkin Vlog!!
